Grey Nurse Shark
(Carcharias taurus)
These pictures might give you goosebumps, but once you have encountered these fantastic sharks there is nothing but respect for these endangered animals.

Their population is declining rapidly, due to definning and habitat disturbances. Because of their slow reproduction rate this shark will have only a very small chance of surviving. See also the video.

These particular photos were not taken at Julian Rocks. However in winter grey nurse sharks are a more than likely encounter around the rock. All other grey nurse shark shots and the video were taken at Julian Rocks, Byron Bay.
